Overview
ECCOM Infrastructure Network Architect Solution is based on life cycle of network that involves six basic phases, namely prepare, plan, design, implement, operate and optimize. With adequate investigation and full understanding of customers' demands, ECCOM shall ensure that customers can obtain the support and services needed in each phase of network life cycle.
Today, an unprecedented influence is brought to our business and life by internet pushed by collaboration and Web 2.0 technology. Under the new IT development background, service has become the word that is mentioned most often. The ultimate goal of new business, new applications, new technology and integration of business systems is to further improve and promote service capacity and service level as well as upgrade customers' experience level to service and customers' satisfaction.
It is just for accelerating utilization and convergence among applications, business processes and network resources as well as making IT is capable of providing better service for enterprises and customers that the service oriented network infrastructure is proposed. This requires personnel in departments of business, application development, system and network shall carry out more effective mutual communication, strengthen interaction instead of previous serial work mode. Enterprise network infrastructure designers shall get involved at the initial stage of new business and application and provide relevant guidance so as to make new business and application can conform to enterprise network infrastructure and security specifications. Meanwhile, corresponding adjustment and change of network may be required by innovative business and application; such change may be tremendous in order to meet requirements of enterprise information architecture.
Under today's background of data centralization, enterprise establishes their own data center for storing key enterprise data and run enterprise core business. Data center is not only enterprise business processing center and information resource center, but also become enterprise network infrastructure center. Requirement of accessing data center network is existed in all other networks of enterprise including headquarters network, branch network, external network, Internet/VPN for obtaining relevant services provided by data center.
Data Center Network
In accordance with modularized or regionalized design principle, the data center network is often divided into various areas according to business function, such as it can be divided into production area, external access area, backbone network accessing area and internet accessing area etc. This division is carried out incorporating enterprise's practical business processes and modes. Whereas, under hierarchical design principle each area is also divided into core layer, convergence layer and access layer. Functional areas are linked by the core exchange area.
Backup data Center Network
Enterprise shall set up the backup data center in accordance with requirements in order to ensure it can continuously run its business and non-interruptedly provide service for customers when there is disaster occurred, which includes local disaster recovery center and remote disaster recovery center.
Backup of the data center includes backup application system, backup data processing system, data recovery system and backup network system which are set up on corresponding backup data center. The network structure of the backup data center is highly consistent with that of the data center. Highly consistent is not mean absolutely reproduce or duplicate data center network, but refers to constructing network and communication setting that is similar with data center in accordance with enterprise's practical circumstance with the premise of meeting disaster recovery requirements. For example, the backup data center may adopt redundant structure only for main nodes.
DWDM, SONET/SDH and optical fiber Ethernet technology is always adopted for interconnecting the data center and the backup data center in order to support high speed and low latency application such as synchronized data replication.
Headquarters Network
Since enterprise headquarters is always the location of enterprise's management , they need to timely obtain analysis data of enterprise's key business for carrying out relevant decision ¨Cmaking and implementing relevant flow. Some headquarters networks are located in the same place with data center networks, but some are located in different places. In the latter case, the headquarters network may be connected with the data center and backup center by DWDM, SONET/SDH and optical fiber Ethernet technology.
Modularized and hierarchical design principle is often adopted for planning and designing headquarters center network.
Branch Network
Branch network is an important part of enterprise overall network infrastructure. According to enterprise's specific network requirement, the enterprise branch network is possibly further divided into the first level branch network and the second level branch network. The first level branch network is directly connected to data center network through WAN, while the second level branch network is connected to the first level branch network through WAN.
Modularized and hierarchical design principle is also often adopted for planning and designing branch network.
Enterprise Backbone WAN Network
Connections among branch, branch and enterprise data center network is realized for enterprise through WAN. Such WAN is always called enterprise backbone wan network. Main line types are DDN dedicated line, SDH, ATM, frame relay etc. Two WAN lines that are run by different service provide are normally adopted for connecting branch and data center, and data distribution and line backup policy is realized on these two lines. In addition, QoS will be deployed in order to ensure giving priority to key business data.
Enterprise External WAN Network
Enterprise has to communicate with the third party company such as cooperation partners through WAN. Such WAN is always called enterprise external wan network. The third party visit enterprise data center network through the external access area of the data center. The security level of the external area is lower, and security technology such as firewall, NAT etc. are always adopted for ensuring the security of the data center.
Internet/VPN
At present, the utilization of enterprise online application has provided great convenience to customers such as online-banking system. Customers visit enterprise data center's WEB server and acquire relevant service through Internet. On the other hand, VPN technology can be adopted for staff to access enterprise resource through Internet by setting up an end to end security channel so as to ensure staff may access enterprise resources safely.
The security level of the Internet access area is lower. two layer firewall with heterogeneous structure is often adopted for ensuring the security of the data center.
Each part of the enterprise network infrastructure is described as above. Certainly, enterprises network infrastructure may vary in accordance with their business modes and requirements to network.
